Deutsche Bahn AG is called upon to continue supporting this unique project. DB AG is currently examining whether the site can be used for its own purposes. Lockkunst e.V. is striving for a cooperation in which sustainable and future-oriented goals can be realized together. It is conceivable that the association could be converted into a cooperative and that this would become the contractual partner. An unused locomotive shed and other adjacent parts of the DB AG site could be included in the joint planning. Lackkunst e.V. already has utilization concepts for this.

Deutsche Bahn and Lockkunst e.V. have reached a compromise for an extension of the lease agreement for the B.L.O. Ateliers.

1. After five months of negotiations, a lease for the open space of the B.L.O. studios for the next 2.5 years, countersigned by DB, has been in place since December.

2. The buildings are to be reinstated in the lease after the structural defects have been remedied.

3. Lockkunst e.V. is responsible for rectifying the defects and financing them.

4. With support from the LOTTO Foundation Berlin (€100,000) and the association’s own funds (€80,000), the financing has been secured.

5. The goal is to reopen the 64 studios for 90-100 creative professionals by June 2025.

6. The association thanks everyone for their support so far, but still needs help to ensure the studios remain permanently.

7. The canteen can therefore continue to operate.
